Application of Polyurethane Sandwich Panels for EN14509 Certification

Step 1: Identify the EU harmonized standards. Polyurethane steel panels need to comply with the relevant harmonized standards. As a type of metal sandwich panel, polyurethane steel panels can refer to the EU harmonized standard EN 14509.

Refer to the name of the harmonized standard EN 14509:

EN 14509: Self-supporting double skin metal faced insulating panels - Factory made products - Specifications.

Refer to the scope of the harmonized standard product. This European standard specifies the requirements for factory-made, self-supporting double skin metal-faced insulating panels, intended for discontinuous laying in the following applications:

a) Roofs and roof coverings

b) External walls and wall coverings

c) Walls (including partitions) and ceilings within the building envelope

Step 2: Determine the product CE certification system. The certification process differs depending on whether flame retardants are added.

System 1: If flame retardants are added to the product (fire testing is mandatory), apply for CE certification under System 1. This involves type testing, factory inspection, and ongoing surveillance by a notified body.

System 3: If no flame retardants are added to the product (fire testing is mandatory), the notified body conducts type testing to determine the product type.

Step 3: Proceed with the CE certification application according to the determined system. Send samples to an EU notified body for testing.

Step 4: Based on the test results, issue the test report and CE certificate.
