ASTM E108 Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Roof Coverings

Depending on the product's use and flame resistance requirements, the corresponding class can be selected for application:

Class A tests apply to the following roof coverings: expected to effectively resist severe fire exposure, afford a high degree of fire protection to the roof deck, do not slip from position, and are not expected to produce a flying brand hazard.

Class B tests apply to the following roof coverings: expected to effectively resist moderate fire exposure, afford a moderate degree of fire protection to the roof deck, do not slip from position, and are not expected to produce a flying brand hazard.

Class C tests apply to the following roof coverings: expected to effectively resist light fire exposure, afford a light degree of fire protection to the roof deck, do not slip from position, and are not expected to produce a flying brand hazard.

Note: Class A is the highest, followed by Class B and Class C; generally, applying for Class C is sufficient for conventional products.

Process for Applying for ASTM E108 Flame Spread Test:

1.Identify the product - photovoltaic panels, and fill out the application form.

2.Determine the test method to be performed, such as the flame spread test.

3.Prepare samples according to standard requirements, e.g., Class C samples require 2.4x 2 pieces.

4.Submit samples for testing.

5.After testing is completed, issue the test report.
