A hovercraft uses high-pressure air to create a cushion between the hull and the water (or ground) surface, lifting the vessel above the water (or ground) to achieve high-speed navigation. Depending on the size of the hovercraft, the hull can be elevated 23 cm to over 2 meters above the water (or ground) surface.
