Using liquid mold silicone to replicate resin models is a common and effective method. Below are the specific operating steps and precautions:

Operating Steps

1. Prepare Materials and Tools: Gather liquid silicone, curing agent, resin model, release agent, clay, mold frame template, hot glue gun, mixer, brush, etc.
2. Prepare the Resin Model: Ensure the resin model's surface is clean, smooth, and free of dust, oil, or other impurities. Sanding and polishing may be necessary to ensure the precision and surface quality of the silicone mold.
3. Create One Half of the Mold: Shape clay to match the resin model and create positioning holes around it to prevent deformation during silicone curing. Use a template to form a mold frame tightly around the clay, and seal all gaps with a hot glue gun. Evenly spray the mold frame and resin model surface with a release agent. Slowly pour the proportionally mixed liquid silicone into the mold frame to avoid air bubbles.
4. Wait for Curing: Allow the liquid silicone to fully cure for approximately 4-8 hours. The exact time may vary depending on the silicone type and ambient temperature.
5. Create the Other Half of the Mold: After the silicone cures, carefully remove the mold frame and clay to take out one half of the silicone mold. Repeat the above steps to create the other half of the silicone mold.
6. Assemble the Mold and Pour Resin: Combine the two halves of the silicone mold and secure them with rubber bands or other methods. Mix the A and B components of the resin according to the instructions, then slowly pour the mixed resin into the silicone mold, ensuring it fills the entire mold and avoiding air bubbles.
7. Wait for Resin Curing and Demold: Allow the resin to fully cure, which typically takes some time depending on the resin type and thickness. Once cured, carefully remove the silicone mold to take out the finished resin craft.
