Room Temperature Curing Liquid Silicone Rubber for Craft Molds

Room temperature curing liquid silicone rubber: Mix with a ratio of 100:2-3 curing agent, then vacuum degas before use. It features easy operation, high tear resistance after curing, multiple mold reproduction cycles, and a linear shrinkage rate controllable to 0.003. At room temperature of 25°C, curing time is 5-8 hours.

Production Process
Preparation: Clean and dry the master model, smooth the surface, apply a layer of release wax or coat with release agent; prepare necessary materials and tools such as mold silicone, curing agent, and mixing container.

Mixing Liquid Silicone Rubber: Weigh and add mold silicone (Component A) and curing agent (Component B) into a container in a specific ratio, then mix thoroughly. The amount of curing agent is generally between 1%-5%, with the exact ratio depending on the type of silicone and usage requirements.

Vacuum Degassing: Place the thoroughly mixed liquid silicone rubber into a vacuum machine for degassing to remove air bubbles mixed into the胶液, preventing bubble formation in the mold that could affect mold quality. Vacuum time should not be too long, typically not exceeding ten minutes.

Mold Making: Based on the shape and structure of the craft, choose an appropriate mold opening method, such as pouring mold or split mold. Apply the processed silicone onto the master model by brushing or pouring, allowing it to flow naturally or spreading evenly with an oil paintbrush to ensure the silicone fills all parts of the master model.

Curing: At room temperature, the silicone begins to cure. Curing time varies depending on the type of silicone and environmental temperature, generally ranging from several hours to over ten hours. During curing, avoid vibrations or external disturbances to the mold.

Outer Mold Making: After completing the soft mold, it is usually necessary to make a plaster or fiberglass jacket to support the silicone soft mold, enhancing its strength and stability.

Demolding: Once the silicone is fully cured, carefully remove the mold from the master model to obtain the silicone mold. Take care during demolding to avoid damaging both the mold and the master model.
