Condensation-type silicone rubber has low shrinkage and high mold replication frequency.
Other Products
Condensation-type silicone rubber has low shrinkage and can be used for multiple mold reproductions. Silicone rubber factories can customize hardness. For inquiries, contact Ms. Chen at 13662816580 (same number for WeChat).
Preparation of materials and tools: Select suitable liquid silicone, such as condensation-type or addition-type silicone rubber, and prepare the corresponding curing agent, release agent, etc.
Tools: Prepare tools such as plastic bowls, stirring rods, wooden strips, gypsum powder, and a vacuum chamber (optional).
Prototype treatment: Clean and treat the carved prototype of the artwork to ensure the surface is smooth and free of oil, dust, and other impurities. Then evenly apply a release agent to the prototype surface and wait for it to dry.
Mixing liquid silicone: According to the product instructions, accurately measure an appropriate amount of liquid silicone and curing agent. Slowly pour the curing agent into the silicone and stir gently with a stirring rod for 3-5 minutes until the mixture is uniform in color, smooth, and free of noticeable particles.
Pouring the mold: Slowly pour the mixed silicone rubber into the container holding the prototype. Start pouring from one side of the prototype, allowing the silicone rubber to flow naturally and gradually cover the entire prototype to avoid creating bubbles. If bubbles form, use a fine needle or toothpick to gently puncture and release them.
Curing and molding: Allow the silicone rubber to cure according to the product instructions. Generally, condensation-type silicone rubber will fully cure at room temperature in about 24 hours, while addition-type silicone rubber cures relatively quickly when heated to 90°C, taking approximately 10-20 minutes.
Making the outer mold (optional): To enhance the strength and stability of the mold, an outer mold can be made after the silicone mold has cured. Common materials for outer molds include gypsum, resin, and fiberglass.
Demolding: After the silicone mold and outer mold have fully cured, carefully remove the outer mold, then detach the silicone mold from the prototype. During demolding, follow a specific sequence and method to avoid damaging the mold and prototype.
