The card-swiping water meter adds prepaid functionality to the original ordinary mechanical meter. This meter uses microprocessor control technology for data collection, employs LCD display and IC card media for data exchange, and operates on the principle of micro-motor-controlled valve switching. The IC card prepaid water meter (insertion card type) has the following performance characteristics:

◆ Prepaid Mode:

Prepaid mode means paying for water before using it: the initial available water volume of the meter is zero, and the valve is closed. Users go to a water sales point to open an account and purchase water, then receive a user card. Inserting the card into the corresponding water meter allows the meter to read the available water volume from the card, after which the valve opens to supply water normally. Once the available water volume in the meter is used up, the valve closes. The user takes the card to the water sales point to purchase more water, then inserts the recharged user card into the meter to repeat the process.

◆ Card Replacement and Data Transfer Function:

A user card can only complete one successful transaction with the corresponding water meter per purchase. If the card is lost, it can be replaced using the software database management function without loss or duplication of water volume. When a water meter needs to be replaced, place the recovery transfer card in the card-swiping area of the meter to read the data. Then, place the card in the new meter’s card-swiping area to transfer the old meter’s information to the new meter.

◆ Dual Display Modes: Mechanical and Electronic:

The household water meter retains the mechanical digit wheel and pointer display of traditional mechanical meters while adding an LCD display. Even if the electronic part fails, the cumulative water consumption can still be read from the mechanical digit wheel.

◆ Tiered Water Pricing Mode:

Different tiered water fees are implemented based on the tiered water pricing policies of different regions. This restricts water usage by charging higher fees for higher consumption, thereby raising public awareness of water conservation!
