Compatibilizers work by reducing interfacial tension, increasing the thickness of the interfacial layer, preventing the coalescence of the dispersed phase, stabilizing the formed phase morphology structure, enhancing the adhesion between different polymers, and forming a stable blend structure. Specifically, compatibilizers can improve surface properties of plastics such as adhesion, antistatic properties, printability, and gloss.
