Novozymes Cellulase Cellic CTec3 is a new high-efficiency enzyme preparation launched by Novozymes in 2012 for the global market, suitable for commercial production of cellulosic ethanol.
Product Features
· High Conversion Efficiency: Compared to the previous generation product Cellic CTec2, the conversion rate is increased by 50%, with performance 1.5 times higher. Compared to other commercially available enzyme preparations, the amount of Cellic CTec3 required to produce the same yield of cellulosic ethanol is only one-fifth of that of other enzymes.
· Excellent Cost-Effectiveness: Ensures low production costs for cellulosic ethanol plants, with low usage costs in non-SSF processes. By improving conversion efficiency, reducing enzyme dosage, and shortening hydrolysis time, it lowers raw material and enzyme costs, as well as equipment occupancy and investment costs during production.
· Good Stability: It is a complex preparation of cellulase and hemicellulase, containing highly active cellulase components with strong specificity, including improved β-glucosidase and a series of new hemicellulases. It has strong adaptability to temperature and pH. While general enzymatic hydrolysis reactions are typically conducted at 40°C-50°C, Cellic CTec3 remains effective at 50°C-55°C.
· Broad Substrate Range: Effectively acts on various lignocellulosic materials such as pretreated corn stover, corn cobs, wheat straw, energy crops, municipal solid waste, and wood chips, converting them into fermentable sugars, providing a wide range of raw material options for cellulosic ethanol production.
Application Areas
Primarily used in the commercial production of cellulosic ethanol. In the cellulosic ethanol production process, after raw materials are pretreated, Cellic CTec3 functions in the hydrolysis stage, breaking down cellulose into monosaccharides and polysaccharides, preparing for subsequent fermentation to produce ethanol.
