Benzylarsonic Acid
Alias: Benzyl Arsenic Acid
Brand: C—WO7
Molecular Formula: C6H5CH2AsO(OH)2
Molecular Weight: 216.08
Properties: Gray-white powder, odorless, chemically stable, non-deliquescent
Solubility: Soluble in hot water or alkaline solutions, capable of forming insoluble compounds with various metal ions.
Storage: Waterproof, avoid direct sunlight, fireproof.
Uses:
Benzylarsonic acid is used as a collector in the flotation of cassiterite, wolframite, and rare earth minerals, and also serves as a collector for flotation of various metal oxide ores. It is the first effective collector for fine slimes of wolframite and cassiterite developed in China.
The mass fraction is above 80%, containing small amounts of inorganic salts such as sodium chloride, with inorganic arsenic content below 1%. Benzylarsonic acid exhibits weak acidity in water, undergoing stepwise ionization to produce H+ and benzylarsonate ions.
The interaction between benzylarsonic acid and wolframite involves chemisorption and salt formation through chemical reactions. Under acidic conditions, benzylarsonic acid exists in the form of H2B2-. Under alkaline conditions, it exists as B2-. Within pH 4~9, it exists as HB-, where flotability is optimal. In this pH range, benzylarsonic acid interacts with wolframite in the form of HB-.
It is used as a collector in the flotation of cassiterite, wolframite, and rare earth minerals, and also serves as a collector for flotation of various metal oxide ores.
