Introduction to GE-609 Low-Temperature Resistant Iron Ore Reverse Flotation Collector

Prerequisite for use: Removal of silt.

Purpose of use: Increase iron content and reduce silicon content.

Flotation performance: Exhibits excellent collecting ability, selectivity, and low-temperature resistance; produces brittle foam, making flotation operations convenient and easy. It overcomes the shortcomings of primary amine collectors like dodecylamine, such as excessive foam volume, sticky foam, and difficulty in handling foam products.

Aqueous acid solution.

Recommended dosage: 200–400 grams per ton of feed ore.

Preparation method: Dissolve GE-609 in hot water (5% by weight).

Applicable mineral flotation range: Reverse flotation of SiO₂ and silica purification flotation for magnetite, hematite, collophanite, magnesite, bauxite, etc., as well as flotation of zinc oxide and lead ore, and separation flotation of KCl and NaCl, feldspar and quartz.

Environmental performance: Based on the dosage of GE-609 in flotation (approximately 150 g/T of feed ore), when the pulp concentration is 33.3%, the concentration of GE-609 in the pulp is 50 mg/L. Converted to amino content by molecular weight, it is less than 10 mg/L, meeting national first-level discharge standards. No treatment is required for production wastewater. Due to its unique structure, GE-609 has better water solubility and biodegradability than dodecylamine, resulting in a smaller environmental impact.

Features of GE-609:

1. Its reverse flotation process is simple; using it alone can achieve the goal of desilication. It requires fewer types of flotation agents and lower consumption of collectors, reducing production costs and expenses.

2. It exhibits excellent low-temperature resistance; its reverse flotation process and collector can save heating costs and lower production costs.

3. The foam generated during flotation is minimal and brittle. In reverse flotation of iron ore, the foam produced is only about one-third of that generated by dodecylamine, with characteristics such as brittle foam, easy defoaming, and easy handling of foam products.

4. It has strong selectivity and collecting ability, resulting in low tailings grade and high concentrate grade, which helps improve iron recovery rates.

5. It is highly efficient, low in toxicity, and environmentally and human-friendly with minimal impact.
