What is the injection pressure of an injection mold?
Pressure exists to overcome the resistance during the flow of the melt. Conversely, the resistance encountered during the flow counteracts the machine's pressure to ensure a smooth filling process.
During injection molding, the pressure at the nozzle of the injection machine is high, overcoming the flow resistance throughout the entire process. Subsequently, the pressure gradually decreases along the flow path until it reaches the front of the melt. In cases where the cavity is well-vented, the pressure at the front of the melt is atmospheric pressure.
Factors affecting the melt filling pressure can be summarized into three aspects: material factors (such as the type of plastic, viscosity, etc.), structural factors (such as the type, number, and location of the gating system, the shape of the mold cavity, and the thickness of the product), and molding process factors.
