Injection molding in a factory is a processing method used for mass-producing complex parts of specific shapes. Specifically, it involves injecting heated and melted material under high pressure into a mold cavity, where it cools and solidifies to form the finished product.
How is Temperature Regulated in an Injection Molding Factory?
1. The temperatures that need to be controlled during the injection molding process include barrel temperature, nozzle temperature, and mold temperature. The first two mainly affect the plasticization and flow of the plastic, while the latter primarily influences the flow and cooling of the plastic. Each type of plastic has a different flow temperature. Even the same plastic from different sources or brands may have varying flow and decomposition temperatures due to differences in average molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. Depending on the type of injection machine, the plasticization process varies, and so does the temperature selection.
2. Nozzle Temperature: The nozzle temperature is generally slightly lower than the barrel temperature to prevent "drooling" of the molten material in open-nozzle systems. However, the nozzle temperature should not be too low, as it may cause premature solidification, leading to nozzle blockage or the injection of partially solidified material into the mold cavity, affecting product quality.
3. Mold Temperature: Mold temperature significantly impacts the internal properties and surface quality of the product.
