MAXSCD8900 Streaming Current Meter

The 8900 Streaming Current Detector is an online analytical instrument for monitoring coagulation effectiveness. It indirectly reflects coagulation performance by measuring the current generated by charged particles or colloids in chemically treated water between two electrodes in the SCD sampling chamber, enabling automatic adjustment and control of coagulant dosing. The sensor design ensures long-term instrument operation. Typical applications include industrial and municipal water treatment, sludge dewatering/filter pressing, reverse osmosis pretreatment, and other industrial processes requiring coagulant dosing.

I. Measurement Principle:

An electric motor drives a piston to perform reciprocating motion within the sensor cylinder, maintaining continuous water flow while generating shear forces that release charged ions surrounding colloidal particles in the water. The movement of these charged ions charges the electrodes below the cylinder, generating an alternating current between the electrodes known as streaming current.
