When using a CEMS condenser to cool and dewater high-temperature, high-humidity gases, contact between condensed water and acidic substances in the flue gas (such as SO₂, NO, NO₂) is inevitable during the dewatering process. Since these components are highly soluble in water, they can cause discrepancies between the detected values of subsequent gas analyzer readings and the actual content values, commonly referred to as component loss rate. To address the issue of component loss rate, achieve minimal or zero loss of gas components, and ensure analytical accuracy, a common solution is to install an acid injection unit before the flue gas enters the condenser for cooling and dewatering.

This acid injection device consists of a container for storing the acid solution, a gas flow tube, a three-way valve, and a low-speed acid injection pump. The acid injection pump pumps the acid solution into the pipeline leading to the condensation unit. The container for storing the acid solution is connected to the pump via piping, and the pump is connected to the three-way valve through piping as well. Special imported high-temperature heating wires are wrapped around the piping for heating.

This device injects an acid solution into the flue gas, making the condensed water in the condenser acidic. This effectively inhibits the hydrolysis of acidic substances such as SO₂, NO, and NO₂, reducing the component loss rate. For optimal results, it is recommended to connect the outlet of the acid injection unit to the inlet of the condenser using a heated sampling tube.
