Using environmentally friendly grade reagents to elute hydrocarbon oils from samples, the total oil content is calculated based on absorbance at three infrared wavenumbers: 2930 cm⁻¹ (C-H stretch in CH₂ groups), 2960 cm⁻¹ (C-H stretch in CH₃ groups), and 3030 cm⁻¹ (C-H stretch in aromatic rings), achieving precise analysis.
