Appearance: This product is a white crystalline powder, soluble in chloroform, water, acetone, etc.

Usage: Mainly used for the synthesis of the anticonvulsant drug Topiramate. Additionally, it serves as a raw material for synthesizing natural compounds with glycosidase inhibitory activity such as Castanospermine and natural compounds with anticancer activity like Talaromycin A and B. It is used to synthesize derivatives of diacetone fructose, such as 1-halo-1-deoxy-D-2,3:4,5-diacetone fructose, 2,3:4,5-diacetone pyran aldehyde, 1-benzoyl-2,3:4,5-D-diacetone fructose, 2,3-monoacetone fructose, 1-methyl-2,3:4,5-diacetone fructose, etc. Fructose derivatives include 2-deoxy-3,4:5,6-diacetone pyran heptulose, 1,4,5- and 3,4,6-tri-O-methyl fructose, deoxyhalo fructose, pseudo fructose, etc. It is also used in the synthesis of Amadori compounds, deoxyhalo sucrose, hexose phosphates, dimeric fructose, O- and S-linked gluco-fructo polysaccharides, methacrylic acid-fructose polymers, and biodegradable bolaform and gemini surfactants.
