Properties: This product is a white crystalline powder, insoluble in water, easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and chloroform.

Uses: Mainly used in biochemical reactions and pharmaceutical intermediates, specifically as follows:

1. Can be used to synthesize 3-ethoxycarbonylphenyl-β-D-acetyl galactoside for the treatment of depression.

2. Used to synthesize 1,2-trans-glycoside derivatives of oxazole compounds, which can serve as antitumor drugs, inhibiting microtubule assembly and selectively targeting tumor blood vessels.

3. Used to synthesize sugar ester derivatives of artemisone acid, which are synthesized from artemisone acid and fully acetylated brominated sugar as raw materials. Experimental results show that compounds 2d and 2g have good inhibitory effects on influenza A (H3N2) virus, and byproduct 3 has good inhibitory effects on both influenza A (H3N2, H1N1) and influenza B viruses.

4. Synthesis of β‑D‑galactosamine pentaacetate as a pharmaceutical intermediate.
