Ultrafine Powder Grinding and Dispersion Machine

The ultrafine powder disperser is a process that efficiently, rapidly, and uniformly introduces one or more phases (liquid, solid, gas) into another immiscible continuous phase (usually liquid). Under normal circumstances, these phases are immiscible. When external energy is input, the two materials are recombined into a homogeneous phase. Due to the strong kinetic energy generated by the high tangential speed and high-frequency mechanical effects from the rotor's high-speed rotation, the material is subjected to intense mechanical and hydraulic shear, centrifugal extrusion, interlayer friction, impact tearing, and turbulence in the narrow gap between the stator and rotor, forming suspensions (solid/liquid), emulsions (liquid/liquid), and foams (gas/liquid). As a result, the immiscible solid, liquid, and gas phases, under the combined action of mature processes and appropriate additives, are instantly uniformly and finely dispersed and emulsified. Through high-frequency cyclic repetition, a stable, high-quality product is ultimately obtained.

Level 1 consists of three levels of serrated protrusions and grooves with progressively increasing fineness. The stator can be adjusted without limit to the desired distance from the rotor. Under enhanced fluid turbulence, the grooves can change direction at each level.

Level 2 consists of a rotor and stator. The design of the dispersion head also well meets the needs of materials with different viscosities and particle sizes. The difference between the inline stator and rotor (emulsification head) and the batch machine's working head design is mainly due to the requirements for transportability. It is particularly important to note that the differences between coarse, medium, fine, and other types of working heads are not only in the arrangement of the rotor teeth but also in the geometric characteristics of different working heads. The number of slots, slot width, and other geometric features can alter the functions of the stator and rotor working heads. According to past practice, working heads are selected based on previous experience to meet specific applications. In most cases, the machine's construction is matched to the specific application, which is crucial for producing the final product. From an equipment perspective, the factors affecting the effectiveness of the grinding disperser are as follows:

1. Type of grinding head (batch type and continuous type) (continuous type is better than batch type)

2. Shear rate of the grinding head (the higher, the better the effect)

3. Tooth structure of the grinding head (divided into coarse, medium, fine, ultrafine; the finer the teeth, the better the effect)

4. Residence time of the material in the dispersion wall, grinding dispersion time (for the same motor, the smaller the flow rate, the better the effect)

5. Number of cycles (the more, the better, up to the equipment's limit; beyond that, no further improvement is possible.)
