Wafer-Type PTFE Soft Seal Hand-Operated Butterfly Valve Imported National Standard D41F-10 Butterfly valve, also known as flap valve, is a simple-structured regulating valve that can also be used for on-off control of low-pressure pipeline media. The butterfly valve features a disc-shaped closure element (disc or butterfly plate) that rotates around the valve shaft to open or close. It is used to control the flow of various fluids, including air, water, steam, corrosive media, slurry, oil, liquid metal, and radioactive media. In pipelines, it primarily serves as a shut-off and throttling device. The butterfly valve's closure element is a disc-shaped plate that rotates around its own axis within the valve body to achieve opening, closing, or regulation.

Working Principle: The disc is driven by the valve stem. A 90° rotation completes one open-close cycle. By adjusting the disc's deflection angle, the flow rate of the medium can be controlled.

Applications and Media: Butterfly valves are suitable for pipelines conveying various corrosive and non-corrosive fluid media in systems such as gas generators, coal gas, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, city gas, cold and hot air, chemical smelting, power generation environmental protection, and building water supply and drainage. Butterfly valve (English: refers to a valve where the closure element (disc or butterfly plate) is a disc that rotates around the valve shaft to open or close. It primarily serves as a shut-off and throttling device in pipelines. The closure element is a disc-shaped plate that rotates around its own axis within the valve body to achieve opening, closing, or regulation. The full open to full close rotation is typically less than 90°. Since the butterfly valve and stem lack self-locking capability, a worm gear reducer is often added to the valve stem to position the disc. The worm gear reducer not only enables self-locking, allowing the disc to stop at any position, but also improves the valve's operability. Industrial-grade butterfly valves are characterized by high-temperature resistance, suitability for higher pressure ranges, large nominal diameters, carbon steel valve bodies, and metal ring seals instead of rubber rings. Large high-temperature butterfly valves are welded from steel plates and are mainly used in high-temperature media applications such as flue gas ducts and gas pipelines.

They are easy and quick to operate, offering excellent flow regulation and shut-off sealing properties, making them one of the fastest-growing valve types in recent decades. Butterfly valves are widely used, with their varieties and applications continuing to expand toward high temperature, high pressure, large diameter, high sealing performance, long service life, superior regulation characteristics, and multifunctional capabilities. The application of chemically resistant synthetic rubber in butterfly valves has improved their performance. Synthetic rubber offers corrosion resistance, erosion resistance, dimensional stability, good resilience, ease of molding, and low cost. Different types of synthetic rubber can be selected based on specific operational requirements to meet the conditions of butterfly valve applications.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) provides strong corrosion resistance, stable performance, anti-aging properties, low friction coefficient, ease of molding, and dimensional stability. By filling or adding appropriate materials, its overall performance can be enhanced, resulting in butterfly valve sealing materials with better strength and lower friction coefficients, overcoming the limitations of synthetic rubber. Thus, polymer materials like PTFE and their filled modified variants are widely used in butterfly valves, further improving performance and enabling the production of valves with broader temperature and pressure ranges, reliable sealing, and longer service life.

With the application of high-temperature, low-temperature, strong corrosion-resistant, erosion-resistant, and high-strength alloy materials in butterfly valves, metal-sealed butterfly valves are widely used in industrial fields requiring extreme temperatures, strong erosion resistance, and long life.
