Construction of Fully Enclosed Duck Rearing Sheds

The racks used for raising meat ducks are made of bamboo or bamboo strips, each measuring 2 meters in length and 0.5 meters in width. The bamboo strips are arranged in two ways: flat or edgewise, and can be secured with small round steel bars. During construction, edges and corners should be smoothed, and nodes and forks should be leveled to prevent injury to the ducks. If plastic mesh mats can be laid on the racks during rearing to increase elasticity, it is even better. The racks are elevated 30–40 cm above the ground and must be laid flat and securely during installation.

Farm construction is a fundamental condition for raising Muscovy ducks. Nowadays, three-dimensional farming is commonly adopted to fully utilize the space of the farm, thereby achieving cost reduction. Muscovy duck farms are typically built on higher terrain, such as hilly areas, with ample forage nearby, proximity to water sources, and unpolluted water quality.
