Large-scale farming typically involves indoor housing, which is also a common method in northern regions. Sheep pens require reasonable design, which varies depending on the region and breed. The design of greenhouse-style sheep pens is particularly suitable for a scale of around a hundred sheep, making sheep farming one of the preferred projects for many farmers. To improve breeding efficiency, the construction of sheep pens is crucial, especially in the colder winters of the north, where greenhouse-style pens are often used to prevent weight loss in sheep. Greenhouse sheep farming is well-suited for cold northern winters, as it is cheaper than brick structures, has lower construction costs, and provides good insulation in winter. In the north, to mitigate the impact of cold weather, greenhouses are often chosen for sheep farming. These should be built in sheltered, sunny, flat, and dry areas, using high-insulation films and double-layer coverage to create an air barrier that prevents convection. Sealing edges and gaps well and hanging curtains at the entrance are essential. Maintaining an appropriate stocking density and fully utilizing the body heat generated by sheep activity can significantly increase the temperature inside the pen. A well-maintained pen should not have a strong, abnormal odor or cause irritation or tearing sensations. Ventilation is generally best done when the sheep are out grazing or exercising. To prevent snow accumulation, the pen should be constructed with sturdy, durable materials to avoid collapse under heavy snow. The roof angle is ideally between 50° and 60°, and snow should be cleared promptly.
