Construction of Layer Chicken Farming Shed
The main equipment for chicken farming in greenhouses is the greenhouse itself. It can be built on orchard vegetable plots, river beaches, wastelands, slopes, or repurposed land. Currently, the most commonly used type is the double-slope greenhouse, which is 80m long and 13m wide, oriented either east-west or north-south. The plastic film should be 1m longer than the greenhouse and 2m wider than the greenhouse. Based on an 80m-long greenhouse housing 7,500 broiler chickens, each greenhouse requires about 200 steel frames, each approximately 81m long. Additionally, prepare an appropriate amount of binding rope and insulating cotton for the greenhouse film. Brick walls are built at both ends of the greenhouse; one end has a door in the middle of the brick wall, with ventilation holes on both sides, while the other end has only ventilation holes or installed windows, along with 1–2 chimney holes for brooding or heating. Between the two brick walls, embed anchor holes every 1m, with one in the center at the same height as the greenhouse roof, and two on each side (the outer two at the same height as the outside of the greenhouse), totaling five, resulting in seven rows of vertical columns. Connect 13m-long bamboo-steel frames at the top of each row of vertical columns to form the longitudinal support structure of the greenhouse.
The plastic film is pre-covered according to specifications. When covering the film, choose a windless and rain-free day. First, lay a layer of drip-free film, add a 5–8cm thick layer of insulating cotton, then cover with another layer of ordinary plastic film. Secure it with crisscrossed iron wires and ground anchors. Place an adjustable vent hole with a diameter of 40–50cm every 3–4m along the top of the greenhouse. Dig drainage ditches around the perimeter of the greenhouse.
