Fully Automated Rabbit Breeding Greenhouse Construction
Rabbit Shed Construction RequirementsMeatRabbit Temperature Requirements
Due to their physiological characteristics and specific purposes, meat rabbits have particular demands for environmental temperature. According to relevant literature and extensive experimental data, the optimal environmental temperature for adult domestic rabbits should be maintained between 15°C and 20°C, at which their growth rate and reproductive performance reach optimal levels. However, young rabbits around the weaning period, whose thermoregulatory systems are not yet fully developed and have high metabolic rates, require higher ambient temperatures, ideally kept at 25°C to 30°C to support normal growth and development. Breeding sheds offer good thermal insulation properties. Additionally, during pregnancy, the basal body temperature of female rabbits rises, so special attention must be paid to the environmental temperature in the doe housing—avoid setting it too high. Reliable, as long as air circulation is ensured, the shed can maintain a constant temperature, addressing issues related to farrowing in does and the rearing of weaned young rabbits. For rabbit shed construction, semi-open rabbit houses can be chosen, using face-to-face cages with an A-frame roof truss placed every 5-6 cages, standing 2.5-2.8m high, and covered with wheat straw or small black tiles. Alternatively, enclosed rabbit houses can be selected, which require doors and windows for ventilation and are suitable for breeding in cold regions. They can also be used for raising young rabbits and are the most effective way to cool rabbit sheds, as well as an effective measure for convective heat dissipation in rabbits. Opening doors and windows when the weather is not hot can help cool the rabbit shed or alleviate heat stress.
