To raise chickens well, the construction of broiler farming greenhouses is also very important, because only when the chicken coop is well built can it provide a better living environment for the chickens, which is conducive to the healthy growth of broilers and achieves the purpose of ensuring the profitability of chicken farming. Broiler farming greenhouses are similar in shape to vegetable greenhouses. The chicken coop is usually oriented south, with a span of 8 to 10 meters. The east, north, and west sides are enclosed by brick walls about 1.5 meters high, with thick walls and many windows installed. The south wall of the chicken coop is open, connected by evenly spaced steel pipes, and covered with translucent plastic film on wooden windows, which can both retain heat and provide ventilation. The roof of the chicken coop is mostly single-sloped, constructed with long steel pipes and thick iron wires to form a flat support frame, covered with one or two layers of plastic film, and equipped with insulated and fireproof cotton on the roof. Inside the chicken coop, there are a number of wall piers supporting the entire roof.

Construction Methods of Broiler Farming Greenhouses

1. Site selection: Choose a location with open terrain, good ventilation, close proximity to a water source, unpolluted soil, and far from main roads to avoid noise. Places that meet these requirements, such as field edges, village open spaces, orchards, vegetable plots, riverbanks, or slopes, can be utilized. This provides a suitable living environment for broilers.

2. Construction specifications: The most commonly used type is the double-slope greenhouse, with a length of 2-30 meters and a width of 7-8 meters, oriented east-west or north-south. The construction area is 140-240 square meters, capable of raising 1,000-1,500 broilers. For a 30-meter-long greenhouse housing 1,500 chickens, approximately 200 bamboo poles about 4.5 meters long, 20 bamboo poles about 8 meters long, and 2,500 bricks are needed. Additionally, prepare an appropriate amount of thin rope, iron wire, wheat straw, or grass mats.

3. Greenhouse assembly

Build brick walls at both ends of the greenhouse. Leave a door in the middle of one gable wall, with ventilation holes on both sides. The other gable wall should only have ventilation holes or installed windows, and also include 1-2 flue holes for use during brooding or heating. Between the two brick walls, bury a row of columns every 2 meters: one in the middle (same height as the top of the greenhouse) and two on each side (the outer two at the same height as the outside of the greenhouse), totaling five columns per row. There are five rows of longitudinal columns in total. Connect the top of each row of longitudinal columns with an 8-meter-long bamboo pole to form the longitudinal support frame of the greenhouse. Then, use groups of 4.5-meter-long bamboo poles, securely tied together, and bind them horizontally at intervals of 30-40 cm around the longitudinal columns to form the horizontal support frame of the greenhouse roof. This completes the construction of the full greenhouse support frame.
