The Setra Model 470T is a microprocessor-based, versatile, high-precision digital pressure transmitter. It combines Setra's proprietary SETRACERAM® sensor, advanced digital circuitry, and mature software system to deliver a system with accuracy up to ±0.02% (full scale) in a compact, low-power package.


The SETRACERAM® sensor is key to the 470T's ability to provide high accuracy and stable performance. Utilizing a patented design based on simple, stable material principles, it achieves a variable capacitance output, with digital circuitry resolution reaching 1 ppm. The digital circuitry and software process raw data into corresponding (linearized and temperature-compensated) outputs with an accuracy of 0.02% F.S., and output in the corresponding engineering units.


Pressure and altitude data can be accessed via a bidirectional RS-232 I/O port, which users can program to output data continuously, intermittently, or on-demand at an adjustable (300-9600) baud rate. Data is reported as simple strings of ASCII characters and responds to commands composed of ASCII characters, for example, "P" (for PRINT) instructs the device to report pressure readings.


The Setra 470 Atmospheric Pressure Transmitter offers multiple functions and operating modes accessible via the communication port: CONVERSION: Converts reported data into one of seven predefined pressure engineering units (hPa, PSI, mbar, in Hg, mm Hg, in H2O, mm H2O), a user-defined conversion factor, or one of two altitude units (ft, m).
