YOUNG 05501LM Intrinsically Safe Wind Monitor

The YOUNG 05501LM Intrinsically Safe Wind Monitor is a high-performance wind speed sensor that measures horizontal wind speed and direction, and can be safely used in Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, D hazardous areas.

The four-bladed helicoid propeller used for measuring wind speed generates an AC sine wave signal when rotating.

Wind direction is determined by a vane connected to a precision potentiometer inside the internal housing. The internal circuitry converts the signal into an isolated 4 to 20 mA current output.

The instrument is constructed from UV-stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum fittings.

The instrument is mounted on a standard 1-inch IPS pipe. An orientation ring is included, which engages with the sensor base to maintain direction when the sensor is removed for maintenance.

Termination is done through a junction box at the bottom of the sensor using small clip connectors (no special connectors required).

*Tested in accordance with safety standard UL 913, Intrinsically Safe Apparatus and Associated Apparatus for Use in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations. Must be properly installed using approved intrinsic safety barriers.
