Meriam Pressure Measurement Modules MFT 4000, MFT 4010, and MFT 4020

Meriam pressure measurement modules offer maximum flexibility and convenience for calibration standards by providing a variety of pressure sensing modules in multiple types and ranges from Meriam Process Technology. By installing a module into any of the three slots of any MFT sensor, Meriam pressure modules can be used in conjunction with any MFT 4000 series multifunction tester. These modules are fully interchangeable and can be hot-swapped as needed to accommodate almost any pressure testing requirement (module installation and removal guidelines also apply to intrinsically safe MFT units).

NIST traceable accuracy of ±0.025% of full scale is available for most pressure ranges and types. This accuracy statement takes into account all effects including linearity, hysteresis, repeatability, and temperature variations from 23°F to 122°F (there is no partial temperature compensation!). Each module includes an NIST certificate and calibration for quality assurance. When used under specified or stable environmental conditions, this device provides customers with nearly identical measurement accuracy levels while saving costs.

Calibration coefficients for all modules are stored in non-volatile memory within the tester module. This means any pressure module can be used on any Meriam MFT without manual programming of coefficient matrices. When a module is installed or the MFT is powered on, the MFT detects the module slot connection, polls the module's calibration coefficients, and configures the display to show pressure readings in the last selected engineering unit. Engineering units, including PSI, cm or inches of water column (at 4°C, 20°C, or 60°C), kg/cm², kPa, mbar, bar, mm or inches of mercury (at 0°C reference temperature), can be selected from the MFT keyboard.

Meriam sensor modules are designed to be recalibrated in the field using appropriate local calibration standards. The MFT's RCAL function allows customers to adjust zero (offset) and full-scale span (gain) on the calibration curve by up to 7 points. Deadweight testers are commonly used to apply a known pressure to a module. The RCAL function enables users to input the applied pressure value, which instructs the module on how to correct its calibration curve. Meriam also offers recalibration services supported by complete documentation and certification for pressure modules.
