Since the first quarter of 2025, a coal mining group in Hebei has implemented robust measures focusing on cost control and equipment maintenance, solidifying the foundation for development and driving production quality and efficiency improvements.
Despite complex geological conditions in the mining face, they achieved single-pass roadway cross-section cutting, advancing 1.2 meters every 35 minutes on average, directly increasing tunneling efficiency by 19%.
These achievements are attributed to the mine's scientific coordination of stable and increased production, prioritizing key excavation tasks, and addressing challenges that hindered tunneling speed. The mine analyzed various factors that previously constrained progress and, to achieve rapid tunneling operations, decided to equip EBZ200 roadheaders paired with the highly acclaimed Shandong Aide U135 alloy bean picks. "Compared to past tunneling methods, both our equipment and components are now more reliable and stable, significantly boosting tunneling efficiency. Moreover, the current picks are much cheaper than the previously used imported ones but perform just as well, saving the mine substantial procurement costs," explained the head of the tunneling district.
The Shandong Aide U135 alloy bean picks used by the mine are made of high-quality tungsten-cobalt alloy, featuring mature craftsmanship and stable performance. In multiple underground comparative tests, these picks consistently outperformed others, making them a popular choice in the market. They are regularly supplied to large coal mining units and have received positive feedback from various mining areas, which caught the attention of the mine's procurement team.
"This drive for quality and efficiency improvement is not only an equipment upgrade but also a reshaping of work mentality," stated relevant personnel at the mining area. Through systematic and forward-looking planning, they aim to achieve higher tunneling efficiency and lower construction costs by 2025, laying a solid foundation for the mine's safe and efficient development. Currently, all support measures have entered the implementation phase, with full efforts directed toward achieving the annual tunneling footage target.
