Property and Uses
DTPMPA is non-toxic, easily soluble in acidic solutions, has excellent scale and corrosion inhibition effects, and good temperature resistance. It can prevent the formation of carbonates and sulfates, and its scale and corrosion inhibitors are better than other organic phosphine in alkaline environments and at high temperatures (above 210°C). Used as a scale inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor for circulating cooling water and boiler water in water treatment, Diethylenetriaminepenta acid is especially suitable for alkaline circulating cooling water as a corrosion inhibitor for unadjusted pH, and can be used as a scale inhibitor in oilfields with high carbonate content, as well as in cooling water and boiler water. When used alone in compound formulations, no dispersant is needed, and the amount of fouling deposited remains very small
DTPMPA can also be used as a peroxide stabilizer (especially effective in hydrogen peroxide stabilization under high-temperature conditions), a chelating agent for textile printing and dyeing, a dispersant for pigments, a delignin stabilizer, a trace element carrier in fertilizers, and a concrete additive. In addition, it is widely used in papermaking, electroplating, metal pickling, and cosmetics, and can also serve as a stabilizer for oxidative bactericides
