Property and Uses

Isothiazolinone is mainly composed of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazoliline-3-one (CM) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolilin-3-one (MI), and is a water treatment fungicide. By breaking the bonds between bacteria and algae proteins, it exerts a killing effect. When it comes into contact with microorganisms, it can rapidly and irreversibly inhibit their growth, ultimately causing microbial cell death, and has a powerful killing effect on common bacteria, fungi, and algae.
(1) This fungicide has high biocidal efficiency, good degradability, no residue, safe operation, good compatibility, strong stability, and low operating cost;
(2) It is miscible with chlorine and most anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants; when used at high doses, it is highly effective in removing bio-slime sludge;
(3) Isothiazolinone is a broad-spectrum, low-toxicity, non-oxidizing biocide widely used in oilfields, papermaking, pesticides, cutting oils, leather, inks, dyes, leather manufacturing, and other industries.

How to use

(1) When this biocide is used as a sludge stripping agent, the dosage concentration is 150-300 mg/L; When used as a fungicide, add every 3-7 days, at an increase of 80-100 mg/L;
(2) Can be used together with oxidizing fungicides such as chlorine, but cannot be used in cooling water systems containing sulfides ; combining with quaternary ammonium salts yields better results;
(3) When using industrial water treatment biocides as antifungal agents, the typical concentration is 0.05-0.4%.

Packaging and storage

Isothiazolinone is packaged in plastic drums, each weighing 25KG, and packaging can also be customized according to user requirements; Store in a cool, shaded indoor area with a shelf life of ten months.

Safety protection

(1) Isothiazolinone is corrosive to the skin, causing burns and triggering allergic dermatitis, with effects lasting for several hours;
(2) Strictly prohibit contact with skin and eyes. When handling water treatment with disinfectants, protective goggles and rubber gloves should be provided. If it accidentally comes into contact with skin, immediately remove contaminated clothes and shoes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, apply urea acetate ointment or burn ointment to the affected area, and seek medical attention immediately.
