Property and Uses
AA/AMPS is a copolymerization of acrylic acid with 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS). Because the molecular structure contains carboxylic acid groups with good scale resistance and dispersion and strongly polar sulfonic acid groups, it can increase calcium tolerance, significantly inhibiting scale against calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, zinc scale in water, preventing iron oxide deposition, and especially high scale inhibition rate against calcium phosphate. It also has excellent dispersion performance. Combined with organophosphine for a significant synergistic effect. It is especially suitable for water with high pH, high alkalinity, and high hardness, making it one of the ideal scale inhibitors and dispersants for achieving high concentration ratios.
AA/AMPS can also be used as textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries and as inhibitors for paper scale in papermaking systems.
