DTPMP•Na2 is composed of various forms of sodium salts from DTPMP. DTPMP•Na2 can be used as a scale inhibitor, a high-efficiency chelating agent, an excellent BaSO4 scale inhibitor, and is used in cooling water treatment, a stabilizer for peroxide bleaching, a detergent additive, municipal and industrial clean water, geothermal water treatment, and oilfield scale inhibitors.
