Fluorite pellet binder is a specialized adhesive used to bond and strengthen fluorite powder into pellets, widely applied in industrial fields such as metallurgy, chemical engineering, and building materials. Below are some detailed pieces of information about fluorite pellet binder:
Characteristics
Low dosage: The general addition ratio is 1% to 2% of the weight of fluorite powder, meaning 10 to 20 kilograms of binder is required per ton of fluorite powder.
Environmentally friendly and pollution-free: Mostly pure organic binders, free from impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, silicon, calcium, and iron, with carbon content not exceeding 0.9%. It does not reduce the grade of fluorite pellets, does not increase ash content, and has no adverse effects on smelting.
Strong bonding force: Provides high initial viscosity, with a pelletization rate of over 98%. Wet pellets do not break when dropped from a height of two meters, and dry pellet strength can reach over 85 kilograms per pellet, meeting furnace charge requirements.
Easy to use: The binder is in powder form. Simply mix the raw materials and binder in proportion, add an appropriate amount of water, and continue stirring until the adhesive properties are fully activated before pelletizing with a machine. No special equipment or complex processes are required.
Usage Method
1. Batching and mixing: Mix fluorite powder and binder in proportion (e.g., add 10–15 kg of binder per 1000 kg of ore powder).
2. Adding water and stirring: While stirring, add an appropriate amount of water, adjusting based on the moisture content of the raw materials until the mixture is uniform and can be formed into a ball by hand without falling apart.
3. Pelletizing: Place the uniformly mixed material into a pelletizing machine for molding.
4. Drying treatment: Dry the formed fluorite pellets at 150°C for 2–3 hours, or allow them to air-dry naturally.
Application Effects
Fluorite pellets made with fluorite pellet binder have uniform grades and easily controllable particle sizes, making them suitable replacements for high-grade fluorite ore. This enables the recycling of resources and creates significant economic and social benefits.
In the metallurgical industry, fluorite pellets serve as fluxing agents and slag removers, lowering the melting point of refractory materials, promoting slag fluidity, separating slag from metal, desulfurizing and dephosphorizing during smelting, and enhancing the malleability and tensile strength of metals.
In the cement industry, fluorite pellets act as mineralizers, reducing sintering temperatures, decreasing fuel consumption, and promoting the formation of tricalcium silicate.
In the glass industry, fluorite pellets are used in the production of opal glass, opaque glass, and colored glass, lowering glass melting temperatures, improving the melt, accelerating melting, and reducing fuel consumption.
In summary, fluorite pellet binder plays a crucial role in industrial production, significantly improving the utilization efficiency of fluorite powder, reducing production costs, and contributing to resource recycling and environmental protection.
