Steelmaking cold-pressed briquette processing is a manufacturing process that converts powdered materials into block materials through cold-pressing technology, primarily used in the metallurgical industry. Below is a detailed introduction to steelmaking cold-pressed briquette processing:
Processing Principle
Cold-pressed briquette processing involves applying pressure to powdered materials within a mold to form block materials with specific shape, size, and density. After forming, consolidation is generally required to enhance their strength.
Material Requirements
Particle Size: The particle size should be controlled with 30%-40% of particles smaller than 1mm, 30%-40% of particles between 1mm and 2mm, and approximately 10% of particles with a maximum size less than 3mm.
Moisture: Moisture content should be maintained between 8%-10%, as it significantly impacts briquette formation, and uniformity must be ensured.
Impurities: Iron blocks or other highly hard block impurities are not allowed in the material to prevent damage to the rollers and shafts of the forming machine.
Processing Equipment
The cold-pressed briquette machine is the key equipment for cold-pressed briquette processing. Its core parameters include a power range of 36.2-110kW, a processing capacity of 5-80 tons per hour, and the use of a three-way feeding structure and hydraulic constant-pressure dual-use technology to improve briquetting efficiency.
Processing Flow
Raw Material Preparation: Naturally air-dry moist iron oxide scale to reduce moisture content below 3%, and screen out impurities from raw and auxiliary materials.
Batching and Mixing: Mix iron oxide scale, dust ash, and other raw materials with an appropriate amount of binder in specific proportions.
Briquetting and Forming: Control the pressure of the briquetting machine within the range of 6-12MPa for briquette formation.
Baking and Consolidation: Bake the formed briquettes at a temperature of 50-60°C to enhance their strength.
Applications
Cold-pressed briquettes can be used in steelmaking converters, electric furnaces, and ironmaking blast furnaces, addressing the issue of steel mill waste while reducing production costs for steel enterprises.
