3. Pigment Properties

Lightfast Scarlet BBN is a yellowish scarlet pigment. It has bright color, high tinting strength, and good dispersibility. Lightfast Scarlet BBN provides a bright yellowish to neutral red, significantly more yellowish than Pigment Red 57:1, with good oil resistance but poor resistance to soap and acid/alkali.

It is mainly used in water-based inks and plastics. In water-based inks, it has low viscosity and good dispersibility; in soft PVC, it has good migration resistance, no blooming, and lightfastness of grade 3; in PE, it withstands heat at 200-240°C/5min; in indoor powder coatings, it can be blended with Lightfast Brilliant Red BBC to produce bright fire engine red colors.
