The breakwater block mold is a steel structure mold made by welding Q235 steel plates. The steel plates are cut using laser cutting, bent, and then manually welded, polished, and assembled. The process is complex and requires strict technical expertise. Different shapes and styles of breakwater block molds are selected based on varying environmental conditions. They are primarily made from steel plates, leveraging the plasticity of steel by welding individual plates together to form the desired shape. The molds are generally large in size, as smaller prefabricated breakwater blocks would not effectively reduce wave intensity along the coast. The terminology for these molds varies by region, but their functional purpose remains the same. The thickness of the steel plates used varies for each type of breakwater block mold. Each set of molds is produced through multiple steps, including cutting and welding steel plates, as well as polishing the mold. The prefabricated components produced using these molds come in a wide variety of shapes. They are laid along the shore in a hollow state according to shape requirements, allowing for water permeability. When the mold is operated correctly, the resulting prefabricated components are finer, smoother, and harder. After grouting the mold, using a vibration rod to treat the slurry for several dozen seconds achieves this state.
Currently, prefabricated breakwater molds on the market are mainly divided into hollow breakwater molds, twisted I-beam breakwater molds, tetrahedral breakwater molds, cross breakwater molds, tri-cone breakwater molds, hexagonal cone breakwater molds, hollow square block molds, and hollow tetrahedral breakwater molds. They are primarily used in seawall projects, revetment projects, bridge projects, and coastal dock areas, where they serve to block waves.
