# Maintenance of 0.5 Ton Softened and Purified Water Equipment

#

# I. Daily Maintenance 

 ### (1) Appearance Cleaning and Inspection Perform a simple daily visual inspection and cleaning of the 0.5-ton softened and purified water equipment. Wipe the equipment housing with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust and stains, keeping the equipment tidy. During cleaning, watch for any abnormalities on the surface, such as signs of corrosion, wear, or leakage. Also, inspect all connection points of the equipment, including those between pipes and between pipes and the equipment, to ensure they are tight, without looseness or water leakage.

 ### (2) Instrument Inspection Check the various instruments installed on the equipment, such as pressure gauges, flow meters, and conductivity meters. Ensure the instruments display normally, with stable readings within reasonable ranges. If any instrument shows needle fluctuations, blurred displays, or abnormal readings, mark it promptly and conduct further inspection or calibration, as these instruments are crucial for monitoring equipment operation and water quality.

 ### (3) Valve Operation Inspect all valves in the equipment, including inlet valves, outlet valves, regeneration valves, etc. Manual valves should operate smoothly without obstruction, and electric valves should function correctly, accurately executing open and close commands. Regularly operate the valves to prevent them from seizing or developing poor seals due to prolonged inactivity. #

# II. Regular Maintenance #

## (1) Pretreatment Section 1. **Multi-media Filter** Backwash the multi-media filter every 1-2 weeks, adjusting the backwash intensity and duration based on the pressure difference before and after the filter to effectively remove impurities from the filter media surface while avoiding media loss. Monthly, inspect the condition of the filter media for issues such as hardening or loss; replenish or replace the media as needed. 2. **Activated Carbon Filter** Similar to the multi-media filter, backwash the activated carbon filter every 1-2 weeks. Every 2-3 months, test the adsorption capacity of the activated carbon for residual chlorine, organic matter, etc. If adsorption efficiency declines significantly, consider replacing the activated carbon. Also, inspect the internal support structure of the activated carbon filter to ensure stability and prevent deformation due to the weight of the activated carbon. #

## (2) Softening System 1. **Ion Exchange Resin** Regularly test the hardness of the softened water to assess the working condition of the ion exchange resin. When the hardness exceeds the standard range, the resin may require regeneration. During regeneration, strictly follow operating procedures to control the concentration, dosage, and regeneration time of the regenerant (e.g., sodium chloride solution). Quarterly, check the height and uniformity of the resin bed to prevent loss or uneven accumulation caused by water flow impact. 2. **Salt Tank and Related Components** Monthly, inspect the salt tank of the softener to ensure the brine concentration is appropriate, the brine pipelines are unobstructed, and the brine drawing device functions properly. Check for any debris in the salt tank and clean it promptly if found.

 ### (3) Purified Water Production Section (if equipped with reverse osmosis, etc.) 1. **Reverse Osmosis Membrane (if applicable)** If the equipment is equipped with a reverse osmosis membrane, check its salt rejection rate, water production, and pressure difference every 2-3 months. If the salt rejection rate decreases, water production drops, or the pressure difference increases, chemical cleaning of the membrane may be necessary. Use appropriate cleaning agents and strictly control cleaning conditions to avoid damaging the membrane. 2. **High-pressure Pump (if applicable)** Monthly, inspect the operating condition of the high-pressure pump, including its sound, vibration, and sealing performance. Check the inlet and outlet pressures to ensure they are normal. Every 3-6 months, replace the pump’s lubricating oil and inspect the wear of key components such as the impeller and shaft seal. 

 ### (4) Disinfection and Sterilization Section (if applicable) For ultraviolet sterilizers (if applicable), check the light intensity of the UV lamps every 3-6 months. Replace the lamps promptly if the intensity falls below the specified value. Also, clean the lamp surfaces to ensure good light transmission. For chemical disinfection devices (if applicable), check that the disinfectant concentration and dosage are normal. 

## (5) Storage and Distribution Section Inspect the internal cleanliness of purified water storage containers (if applicable); periodically empty and disinfect them to prevent microbial growth. Check the sealing and cleanliness of distribution pipelines to ensure there are no leaks and no residual impurities inside. Also, inspect the operability and sealing performance of valves on the pipelines.

 ## III. Long-term Maintenance ### (1) Comprehensive Inspection Conduct an annual comprehensive inspection of the 0.5-ton softened and purified water equipment. This includes checking the electrical system for secure wire connections, good insulation, and proper functioning of electrical components. Calibrate the control system, check sensor accuracy, and adjust control parameters. Additionally, perform a thorough inspection of mechanical components such as bearings and transmission parts; add or replace lubricants to ensure smooth operation.

 ### (2) Equipment Shutdown Maintenance If the equipment needs to be out of service for an extended period, drain all water from the equipment. After thorough cleaning and disinfection, apply an appropriate amount of rust inhibitor to internal surfaces and key components. Cover the equipment with plastic film or similar material to prevent dust and moisture ingress, and store it properly.
