FRASER720 Ion Bar Detector
The FRASER Pocket 720 Ion Bar Detector quickly and accurately checks whether AC static elimination bars are operational. It can be used on equipment that is either powered off or currently running.
Performance
* The charge generated by the static eliminator's emitter needles is conducted to the 720's internal sensor. The AC signal is rectified and averaged by operational amplifiers and resistors. For practical effectiveness, only half of the positive charge signal is utilized.
* An integrated circuit drives the LED display, depending on the strength of the signal.
Operating Method
* The operator should press and hold the white button and approach the static eliminator. If the ion bar is functioning, the LED display will be activated by the voltage signal. The strength of the static eliminator's electric field will be shown on the LED. Always take readings at the same distance—if convenient, the 720 can make contact with the emitter needles.
* A decline in performance may indicate that the ion bar requires cleaning or that the transformer is faulty. If there is no signal, it could be due to a system short circuit or transformer failure. Also, check the battery inside the 720.
Battery
Battery: PP3, 9V. When one LED is lit, the current draw is 16mA, allowing for continuous operation of 34 hours or approximately 10,000 individual tests.
