Elastic coefficient, i.e., Young's modulus of elasticity
Definition: The ratio of in-phase normal stress component to normal strain. It is a coefficient to measure material rigidity; the higher the value, the tougher the material.
Proportional limit: Within a certain range, the load and elongation can maintain a proportional relationship, and the maximum stress is the proportional limit.
Elastic limit: The maximum stress that the material can withstand without permanent deformation.
Elastic deformation: After removing the load, the material's deformation completely disappears.
Permanent deformation: After removing the load, the material still retains deformation.
Yield point: When the material is stretched, the deformation increases rapidly while the stress remains unchanged; this point is the yield point. The yield point is divided into upper and lower yield points, generally the upper yield point is taken as the yield point. Yield: When the load exceeds the proportional limit, the elongation is no longer proportional to the load, the load suddenly drops, and then fluctuates up and down for a period of time, with significant changes in elongation; this phenomenon is called yielding.
Yield strength: The load when the permanent elongation rate reaches a specified value, divided by the original cross-sectional area of the parallel part.
Spring k value: The ratio of the in-phase action component to the deformation.
