Freezing Rain and Ice Accumulation Test

Icing tests are primarily used to determine whether equipment can withstand icing/freezing rain environments; operate under icing (freezing rain) conditions; and evaluate the effectiveness of de-icing equipment and techniques, including the efficacy of equipment and methods specified for field use.

Test items: Low-temperature test, high-temperature test, constant damp heat test, high and low temperature test, high and low temperature test, alternating damp heat test, icing/freezing rain test.

Scope of application: Equipment that may be exposed to icing conditions caused by freezing rain or drizzle; equipment whose operational performance may be affected by ice accumulation due to seawater spray or mist.

Example test standards: GJB 150.22-1987, GJB 150.22A-2009, RTCA/DO-160G, etc.

Testing Service Introduction:

1. Test chamber dimensions: 1000mm × 1000mm × 1000mm;

2. Rainfall rate: 25mm/h; Drip area: 900mm * 900mm;

3. Test chamber temperature range: (-20 to +100)°C;

4. Test levels: A, B, C, D; Ice thickness ≤75mm.
