Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing

Introduction:

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing refers to the ability of a device or system to operate in compliance with requirements within its electromagnetic environment without causing intolerable electromagnetic interference to any other devices in that environment. EMC design and EMC testing are complementary. The quality of EMC design is measured through EMC testing. Only by conducting EMC compatibility prediction and assessment throughout the entire process of product EMC design and development can potential electromagnetic interference be identified early, and necessary suppression and protection measures be taken to ensure system electromagnetic compatibility. Otherwise, if compatibility issues are discovered after the product is finalized or the system is built, significant human and material resources will be required to modify the design or implement remedial measures.

Equipment Parameters:

A standard 3m method (9m×6m×6m) semi-anechoic chamber and a conducted emissions chamber (6m×3m×3m) meet the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility testing per GJB151 series/MIL-STD-461 series, aircraft power supply characteristic testing per GJB181/MIL-STD-704/DO160 series, and overall and system-level electromagnetic compatibility testing per GJB1389 and GJB8848, among others.
