Principle of Steam Separator

Due to the difference in density between gas and liquid, when liquid flows together with gas and passes through a wire mesh, it acts like a sieve: the gas passes through, while the liquid is retained on the mesh. Simultaneously, under the influence of gravity, the gas continues to flow in its original direction, while the liquid flows to the bottom of the separator. In other words, there is a tendency for liquid and gas to separate in a gravitational field, with the downward-flowing liquid adhering to the wall surface, collecting, and being discharged through the drain pipe.
