Function of Capsule Sealing Device

The inflatable capsule sealing device is used to quickly seal boreholes in order to measure the initial velocity of gas emission from the borehole and predict the risk of coal and gas outbursts in the working face.

Operating Steps of Capsule Sealing Device

The installation and usage steps are as follows:

1. When the borehole reaches the required length for measuring the initial gas emission velocity, immediately withdraw the drill rod and place the sealing device at the appropriate depth, ensuring the gas emission measurement chamber length is 0.5m (when using the short-hole initial gas emission velocity method to predict outburst risk in the working face) or 1m (when using drill cuttings volume and initial gas emission velocity to predict outburst risk in the working face).

2. Open the valve and use a pump or air compressor to inflate the capsule until the sealing device cannot be moved by hand. Then close the valve.

3. Connect the flow meter to measure the initial gas emission velocity of the borehole.

4. After measurement is complete, open the valve to deflate the capsule and withdraw the sealing device.
