The electrical integrity of a grounding device refers to the electrical connectivity between various electrical equipment that should be grounded within the grounding device, as well as between different parts of the grounding device and the equipment themselves, specifically the DC resistance value, also known as electrical conductivity. The reliable and effective connection between the grounding down conductor of power equipment and the ground grid is fundamental to ensuring the safe operation of the equipment. The grounding down conductor is the part that connects the power equipment to the ground grid. During long-term operation, the connection point may be affected by factors such as moisture, leading to corrosion or even breakage, resulting in increased resistance at the connection point between the grounding down conductor and the main ground grid. This may fail to meet the requirements of power regulations, posing safety risks during operation, and in severe cases, causing the equipment to operate without proper grounding. The underground grounding electrodes and their connecting parts of the grounding device may also experience corrosion or breakage. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly conduct electrical integrity tests on grounding devices.
The power industry standard DL/T475-2006 "Guidelines for Measuring Characteristic Parameters of Grounding Devices" stipulates that electrical conductivity should be measured using specialized instruments with a resolution of 1 mΩ and an accuracy of no less than 1.0 grade.
