Colloidal Silica is a colloidal system formed by the dispersion of amorphous silica nanoparticles in water, with its molecular formula represented as mSiO₂·nH₂O. The industrialization of colloidal silica products began internationally in the 1940s. In China, the development of colloidal silica started relatively late, and there remains a significant gap in product variety, quality, and application effectiveness compared to developed countries.
The company employs the "elemental silicon hydrolysis method" to produce colloidal silica. Using elemental silicon as the raw material and under the action of a catalyst (such as sodium hydroxide), it reacts with water to obtain the desired product. Although the principle of this method is relatively simple, achieving uniform particle size and stable production is highly challenging. Through long-term production practice, the company has developed effective pathways to control growth and achieve precise particle size regulation by adjusting raw material ratios (such as the gradation of silicon powder particle size and the silicon powder-water-catalyst ratio) and reaction temperature, thereby controlling the chemical reaction rate.
Since 2014, the company has adopted the "sodium silicate ion exchange method" to produce certain types of large-particle-size colloidal silica to meet diverse market demands.
After years of development, the company currently has an annual production capacity of over 50,000 tons of colloidal silica, offering more than 40 stable varieties across ten major categories, including alkaline, acidic, neutral, various stabilizers, and surface-modified types. Our products are characterized by low impurity content, uniform particles, dense structure, and excellent sphericity. They are widely used in precision casting, refractory materials, coatings, coatings, papermaking, textiles, food, electronics, chemical mechanical polishing, catalyst carriers, Pickering emulsion-based synthetic resins, and other fields, receiving widespread acclaim from users both domestically and internationally.
