Application of Tilt Sensor in Telescopic Manipulator Control System
---Changsha Pingchuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
A telescopic manipulator is a load-bearing machine used in construction and industrial production, essentially functioning as a compact lifting device. In the construction industry, the telescopic boom of the manipulator is designed to operate on rough terrain, making it essential to address tipping risks. To provide early warnings and prevent accidents, a safety system must be integrated into the machine.
Two factors contribute to machine tipping: the cabin’s posture and the boom’s tilt angle. These variables can be easily measured using tilt sensors. For the cabin’s posture, monitoring is required along both the lateral and longitudinal axes, with a typical maximum angle of ±30°. The boom angle has similar characteristics to that of a crane boom. During actual load-bearing operations, even a slight change in angle can equate to a significant shift in load, and the relative length of the boom amplifies this effect, especially when the boom is near or at a horizontal position. The normal working range for the boom is 0–90°.
Our tilt sensor products include:
1. Single-axis and dual-axis (measuring tilt in both forward-backward and left-right directions)
2. Measuring range: 0~±180° (selectable)
3. Power supply voltage: DC 9–36V (can be directly connected to the equipment’s battery)
4. Output signals: 0–5V, 4–20mA, RS232/485, CAN bus, switch signals, and other analog or digital methods.
5. Encased in a metal housing.
