Performance Characteristics of Polyurethane Cable Trays
◆ High toughness and transverse strength. Without adding transverse felt or fiberglass cloth reinforcement, the transverse bending strength of the product can still reach up to 100 MPa, far exceeding that of unsaturated resin systems (approximately 20 MPa);
◆ Weather resistance is superior to unsaturated resin systems;
◆ Polyurethane composite cable trays are made from raw materials consisting of two-component polyurethane and fiberglass. The production process involves closed feeding and thermosetting molding. The main material is a high-performance polyurethane pultrusion system developed by Bayer MaterialScience (China) Co., Ltd., which originates from Germany. This material does not contain styrene solvent (a toxic chemical), and no solvent volatilization or styrene emissions occur during production.
◆ The fiberglass content in polyurethane pultrusion reaches up to 83%. While achieving the same performance indicators, the thickness of the product is approximately half that of unsaturated resin systems;
◆ Polyurethane cable trays exhibit high tensile strength, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance. Compared to other resins such as unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester, polyurethane comprehensively enhances the physical properties of the product. The strength and stiffness of polyurethane are 2-5 times higher than those of unsaturated polyester resin;
◆ Polyurethane products have excellent toughness. Processed and punched edges show very few or even no microcracks. The surface is smooth and fine, with high rigidity and low porosity, which facilitates subsequent processing such as drilling, machining, and assembly. Compared to pultruded products made from unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, and other resins, polyurethane pultrusion offers significant advantages in terms of on-site construction convenience and service life;
◆ The product boasts advantages such as high strength, corrosion resistance, flame retardancy, insulation, lightweight, and cost-effectiveness.
