| The classifier boasts advantages such as simple structure, reliable operation, and ease of use, making it one of the most widely used classification devices in mineral processing plants. It is primarily employed for pre-classification and check classification in wet grinding circuits, and can also be used for desliming and dewatering in washing operations. Working principle: The slurry ground by the ball mill is fed into the classifier trough through the feed inlet located in the middle of the settling zone. The lower end of the inclined trough serves as the slurry classification and settling area, where the slowly rotating spiral agitates the slurry, causing fine particles to suspend and flow to the overflow weir for discharge, while coarse particles settle at the bottom of the trough. These coarse particles are then conveyed by the spiral to the discharge port at the upper end of the trough and returned as sand to the ball mill for regrinding. Spiral classifiers can be categorized into single-spiral and double-spiral types based on the number of spiral shafts. Depending on the depth of the spiral blades at the overflow end submerged below the overflow surface, they are classified as high-weir type or submerged type. |
