1200 Degree Quenching Furnace Coarse End Type Silicon Carbide Rod

The early silicon carbide rod products only had one model, the GC type, which is the thick-end type silicon carbide rod product. Although the GC type silicon carbide rod product has been widely used and recognized by society, it still has its shortcomings:

1. The resistance ratio per unit length between the cold end and the heating part is only 1:6, resulting in relatively high heat loss.

2. From a structural perspective, after long-term use of silicon carbide rods, the connection between the thick end and the heating part is not very secure. Over time, the thick end and the heating part may become loose, increasing contact resistance, causing damage to the silicon carbide rod, significantly reducing its service life, and consuming a large amount of electricity.

Due to these issues with the thick-end type silicon carbide rod, the development of equal-diameter silicon carbide rods became the direction of silicon carbide rod advancement. After more than a decade of research, China overcame many technical challenges and finally completed the research project for trial production of equal-diameter silicon carbide rods in 1983, meeting all the predetermined targets of the project. This filled the gap in China's silicon carbide rod product varieties and manufacturing methods, making a significant contribution to the development of silicon carbide rod production technology and earning the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements. Later, in the process of industrializing equal-diameter silicon carbide rods, the research project "Improving the Welding Strength Process of Equal-Diameter Silicon Carbide Rods" was completed, winning the National Scientific and Technological Achievement Award in 1991.

Production verification of over four million standard equal-diameter silicon carbide rods has proven that the welding byproducts are chemically stable at high temperatures of 1500 degrees Celsius, with a bending strength reaching 600 KG/CM². The resistance ratio per unit length between the cold end and the heating part of equal-diameter silicon carbide rods improved from 1:6 to over 1:24, doubling the service life.
After the successful development of equal-diameter silicon carbide rods, they were quickly widely adopted and directly replaced imported silicon carbide rods.
